X-Men Origins: Wolverine is nearing the box office but many people are already gawking over what Hugh Jackman turned himself into to play the rough, take no crap Wolverine. According to news sources and interviews from Jackman, his build muscle routine was rigorous in preparation for the hot tempered role. He hit the gym 5 days a week for 5 straight months according to examiner.com. Hugh Jackman has never been out of shape but he never looked bullet proof like he is in the pictures promoting X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It is really crazy how much he resembles the original comic book depiction of Wolverine. He is perfect for the role.
During his build muscle routines, he rotated between phases over the weeks, focusing on power. He probably focused on lifting near his max instead of repping low weight. Between build muscle phases, he focused on endurance and flexibly based exercises like yoga, jogging and Pilates according to the examiner.com. I can’t wait to see him rip up the bad guys on the big screen. It is time to get pumped up.
