creatine, bodybuilding supplementsCreatine did not always have a bad rap. When it first hit the market, it found its place among other bodybuilding supplements and quickly became more and more popular. Then came the day when high school athletes to professional bodybuilders started endorsing the amazing results. People started to abuse the power of Creatine and then the horror stories began. Some today consider it still part of the long list of natural bodybuilding supplements and others think of it as a steroid.

The fact is Creatine is made up of three amino acids knows are glycine, arginine and methionine. After ingested, Creatine acts as a catalyst for muscle movement especially movements common to gym workouts. The jury is really out on how to ingest the supplement. Some cycle and some take it continuously. I can’t make any recommendations there. All I know is that over use is a bad idea. Studies have not been able to prove any long term negative side effects to using the supplement nor short term past bloating, diarrhea and other intestinal problems. Don’t take Creatine as the miracle cure to build muscle. Use it with a regular workout routine and the results will be noticeable.
