nutritional supplementsIt's the holiday season and I'm trying to figure out how I can sneak some nutritional supplements into the baked goods that we routinely serve during the holidays. I have started substituting stevia and agave sweetener for sugar in our baked goods and cutting back on the butter or oil that I use. We love Swedish butter cookies that are basically an egg, butter and sugar cookie tied together with a little flour, and I'm thinking that a nice raspberry filling would be delicious to sandwich two thing cookies together.

I honestly don't think that anyone at my house would eat a traditional fruit cake even though it's packed with different types of fruit. I could also use some citrus juice in cakes that could be made festive and use things like oatmeal or flax seeds that would certainly add some nutritional supplements to the food that we indulge ourselves with this time of year. In fact, there's no reason that our holiday traditions can't be changed to include some baked goods that are good for us like baked apples, lemon curd, lots of raw nuts, and even some nutritional supplements that are powdered and fruit flavored. I will have to check online for nutritional supplements that lend themselves to being cooked or baked, an easy task online, and get them ordered for good, healthy eating this holiday season.
