aromatherapy oil

The use of aromatherapy oil dates back to ancient cultures; they even used aromatherapy oil in the times of Christ.  These days we have come up with new ideas on how to use aromatherapy oil to help our pets as well as ourselves.   Aromatherapy oil can be known to help with aggression, hyperactivity, digestion issues, motion sickness, bad breath, and repelling fleas and ticks.

We know the calming properties that the lavender aromatherapy oils have on humans and they have that same effect on dogs.  I suggest that you introduce the aromatherapy oils in a diluted form by spraying in or around you pet's beddings, so they can get use to it.  Never use the aromatherapy oil near a pets eyes or mouth, as it can be dangerous for them to ingest.  Some of the unsafe aromatherapy oil for pets would include birch, clove, juniper and yarrow.

Pets can even have allergic reactions to aromatherapy oils if applied to their skin; use a small amount to make sure that your dog can tolerate it.  A dog’s sense of smell is very sensitive so way less aromatherapy oil is needed.

I’d avoid using aromatherapy oils on or around cats other than maybe spraying some organic catnip spray on their scratching post or their favorite squeeze toy.
