Snack Right, Build Muscle, Build Your Heart |

One of my favorite TV shows is The Doctors, and I've learned so much about the importance of nutritional supplements and why it's imperative to build muscle to help the heart. The more exercise that people do, the better it is for their hearts, within moderation. Today's show was all about heart health, and I was glued to the screen. Since heart disease and diabetes are on both sides of my family, I have to take these things seriously. Behaviors I've changed since watching this show are to virtually no prepared foods. I have stopped snacking on high carb foods and instead, am buying cherry tomatoes to eat as snacks. These tomatoes are loaded with vitamins minerals and are a great deal healthier than cookies or chips.
I'm also on a fitness kick; I go to the exercise room a couple of times a week and spend an hour on the treadmill and bike. It's fun. It's helping me build muscle to strengthen my heart and add to my endurance. Just about everyone in my family pays attention to diet and exercise now that we know there is such a strong correlation between diet, exercise, and health. |
