vitamins minerals

My family has been actively changing their overall eating habits to include more vitamins minerals in their diet. Together we made a pact to leave the chips and soda behind on the grocery shelves and spend more time in the produce department. I have involved the kids in the big change by allowing them to pick out their favorite fruits and vegetables when we go grocery shopping. This has been a very effective method of introducing more vitamins minerals into everyone's diet.

When we get home from the grocery store I cut up carrots, bell peppers, celery, broccoli and cauliflower into bite sized pieces. These I place into individual snack bags that are ready to grab and go. I also make sure that there is fresh fruit available in a bowl on the kitchen table. The kids like oranges, apples, pears and bananas. They have really done a great job adjusting to this change.

In order to make sure there are no temptations I have removed all chips, cookies and soda from the house. This has enabled the family including myself to get our vitamins minerals from the foods we eat. Mealtime is a little different too. Every meal is infused with opportunities to intake vitamins minerals with the foods we eat.
