build muscle

Being a member of the older adult population has given me reason to rethink my workout efforts to build muscle. I have always been active but as I have gotten older I have noticed changes in what my body can and cannot do. I often wonder what my body would be like if I hadn't worked to build muscle all these years. Because even thought I constantly am moving my body still reeks the effects of aging.

I have been jogging to build muscle for over thirty years. This effort has helped me to build muscle and stay in a pretty lean condition. I began jogging at the community college near my home. I used the track and ran one lap at the start. Then I added more laps on until I was running miles at a time. Years later, I now run the inside track at a gym. The air conditioning makes a big difference in the hot summer months.

I really like to build muscle with the jogging and using free weights. Although it has become more of a daunting task as I have gotten older. My body mass has changed. This is not to say for the worse but it is harder to build muscle at my age now. I will continue my efforts though as working out is a way of life for me.
